Lockport-Homer Swim Club

LHSC participated in the Lincoln Way Gators Sprint Classic on October 26th 2008. The team took 2nd in overall team standings behind PPD. Swimmers that placed in the top 6 of their age group were...Brooke Paulson, Matt Ganz(5th), Dana Westberg (5th), Emily Johnson (3rd), Kiara Gallagher(5th), Brittany O'Neill (5th), Josh Lantow (5th), Sharlene Soli (3rd), Eric Johnson (5th), Amanda Moran (3rd), Billy Bafia (6th), Michael Pedroni (2nd), Kevin (Fish) Moran (1st). Great Job everyone!!!!

Amanda Moran gets Recognized at State Banquet (10/12)

Congradulations to Amanda Moran for getting recognized at the Illinois Swimming yearly banquet. Amanda was recognized for being 2nd fastest in the 50 back in her age category. She had the priviledge to meet Olympians Christine Magnason and Matt Grevers.

DAY FIVE @ MEGA ZONES (Aug. 2008)

Michael Pedroni and Kevin Moran made a showing in the prelims going right near their previous times. Kevin Moran finishing the 50 Free with a 5th place finish with a time of 24.95. The 200 Medley Relay Kevin Moran swam the freestyle lenght and helped the Relay clinch the 2nd place finish for team ILLINOIS.

DAY FOUR @ MEGA ZONES (Aug. 2008)

Amanda and Abby did great in their 50 backstroke placing 12th and 20th with times of 33.8 and 34.20 respectively. The ILLINOIS B relay for 11-12 Girls 200 Medley relay featured Amanda Moran who went a 33.6 leading off in back stroke and the relay placed 6th overall. Abby Loughran took 39 in the breastroke and Matt Abercrombie taking 70th in the 200 Free.

DAY THREE @ MEGA ZONES (Aug. 2008)

The 15-18 200 Free Relay featured LHSC's Kevin Moran leading off. Kevin went a 24.5 in his 50 free and the Relay took 3rd overall. Abby Loughran swam the 50 fly today and swam it in the 33.5. Way to go swimmers!

DAY TWO @ MEGA ZONES (Aug. 2008)

THe 100 Free was swam today by Kevin Moran and Michael Pedroni. Keven swam the free in a 56.78 taking 46th over all and Michael went a 57.59 taking 75th overall. Keep it up LIGHTNING!

DAY ONE @ MEGA ZONES (Aug. 2008)

Matt Abercrombie set the pace for team ILLINOIS and representing LHSC by taking 4th place in the Open Water 1.5 mile with a time of 18:00.76. Way to go Matt and team ILLINOIS!

Kevin Moran was also the 3rd swimmer in the 400 Relay in the Evening. Uncertain of the place Keven split in a 55.2!

GOOD LUCK AT ZONES! (Aug. 2008)

AS you know we had many qualifiers for the zone meet this year. The "zones" meet is a meet of the different states. Usually the meet take place with a few states, however this year is the 25th anniversary so 25 states are competing. The kida that are going down to compete this weekend are Kevin Moran, Amanda Moran, Michael Pedroni, Abby Loughran, and MAtt Abercrombie. These kids have put in numerous hours of hard work and dedication to this sport. Good luck guys and see you in the fall.

Age Group Champs Recap (July 2008)

This year we had 3 participants in this meet; Matt Abercrombie, Abby Loughran and Amanda Moran. Matt Abercrombie started the meet off with a zone cut in his 200 free on Friday and the time drops did not stop there. Abby Loughran made console finals on Friday night in the 100 Br surprising the other swimmers by entering the meet in yard times. On Saturday LHSC was smokin hot! Amanda and Abby made top eight in prelims for the 100 back and finished 2nd (Amanda) and 4th (Abby to represent LHSC on the podeum that night. Matt also had a great day with an additional zone time in the 400 freestyle. Sunday was the last day of the competition and LHSC's best. In prelims, both girls again placed in the top eight for the 50 back and Abby placed in the 50 fly. Matt had over a 20 second drop in his 1500m fr time which qualified him for zones and gave him a 9th place finish. That night Amanda and Abby swam in finals and placed 3r4d (Amanda) and 4th (Abby) in the 50 backstroke and in the 50 fly Abby placed 8th to finish off the weekened for LHSC.

Senior Champs Recap (July 2008)

LHSC had a great meet! Participants in this meet were Larry Formosa (100 Fly, 50 Free, and 400 Medley and Free Relay, Kevin Moran (50 Free, 400 Medley and Free Relay), Michael Pedroni (50 Free and 400 Free Relay), Billy Bafia (400 Medley Relay), Chris Bowman (400 Medley Relay), and Jake Welch (400 Free Relay). Each swimmer did exceptionally well. From this meet Larry Formosa, Michael Pedroni and Kevin Moran all qualified in the 50 free to go to the Mega Zones meet in Indianapolis in August.
